Mornings with Mommy isn't preschool and it isn't childcare. It's something different.

Mornings with Mommy is a fun and easy way for you to enjoy activities with your children and meet other moms. There will be age appropriate activities for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers (ages 0-5). The best part is we do all the planning, you just sign up!

Each playdate is a one of a kind blend of story time, playdate, and learning center that combine to meet the development needs of young children.

Meet Our Mornings with Mommy Director

Hello! My name is Katie Douglas, and I am thrilled to lead the Mornings with Mommy program here at Risen Savior! This is a wonderful program that I previously had the joy of leading in Overland Park, Kansas, and I’m so excited to bring it to the Pooler community.

Currently, I also serve as the Pre-K 4-year-old teacher at Risen Savior Christian Academy. In the past, I’ve had the pleasure of working in the 2- and 3-year-old preschool classrooms here as well. I am passionate about creating an environment where caregivers and children can learn together through engaging and fun-filled play.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes, registration is required for each playdate.

  • Each playdate costs $15.00 for the first child. Additional siblings are $5.00 each. The ticket fees are used to cover the cost of program supplies.

  • Yes, so register soon to reserve your space. When the playdate is full a waiting list is formed. If your plans change please email the director, Katie Douglas. All payments are non-refundable. Any openings will be filled from the waiting list.

  • If there are any cancellations, we will then move on to the waiting list. We will call the number you used in your waiting list registration.

  • Since materials are purchased and prepared according to our number of registrations, all payments are non-refundable.

  • Mornings with Mommy is for children ages birth through preschool (0-5), accompanied by an adult. Dads, grandmas, grandpas, nannies, and other caregivers are welcome too!

  • Each playdate is a little different because each one has its own theme, but the basic structure will be consistent. Playdates begin with Circle Time where we open with language and literacy activities on the big rug (stories, flannel board, and songs). After that the director will explain the different stations set up in the room. These stations will include arts, crafts, sensory activities, gross motor skills, fine motor skills, an infant area, and a coffee station for the adults. You can explore these activities at your own pace while enjoying the company of the other adults.

  • Mornings with Mommy is held at Risen Savior Lutheran Church & Christian Academy in the fellowship hall.
